Resume AI chat: change your resume by asking

Open any resume in the resume editor. At the bottom of the page there's a box that says Ask AI to change your resume. Type what you want in plain words and press Enter. The AI makes the change on the page, and you can undo it with one click.

It can do anything the editor's buttons do: rewrite text, change fonts and sizes, set margins, rename the resume, download it, check it against a job, and more.

How to use it

1. Click the box at the bottom of the editor.
2. Type what you want, for example make my summary shorter.
3. Press Enter (or the round arrow button). For a new line inside the box, press Shift + Enter.
4. A short reply shows above the box. It says what changed.
5. Don't like it? Press Undo on the reply, or Ctrl + Z.

Not sure what to type? Press Ideas under the box for a few ready-made commands.

Point it at one part with @

Type @ (or press Pin under the box) to pick one part of your resume:

• Sections: your contact details, your summary, your skills, your experience, and so on.
• Jobs, schools & projects: one job, one school or one project on its own.

Pick one with the arrow keys and Enter, or click it. It shows as a chip above the box: Only change: EXPERIENCE › Acme. The AI then changes only what you pinned and leaves the rest alone. Remove a pin with its ×.

Example: pin EXPERIENCE › Acme, then type make these bullets stronger. Only the Acme bullets change.

Check it against a job

• Tailor my resume to this job: and then paste the job description in the same message. The job-match panel opens and checks your resume on its own: a match score, the keywords you already have, and the ones you're missing. It also counts a requirement your resume shows in other words, like Led a team of 5 for leadership.

• Download it as a PDF or Download it as a Word file
• Rename it to Backend Engineer
• Show my resume score
• Show me sample resumes or Use the registered nurse sample
• Share it by email
• Preview it and Zoom to 125%
• Use this resume in my interviews (makes it your active resume)

You can ask for several things at once: Use Georgia at 12 pt with narrow margins and rename it to Backend Engineer. One Undo takes all of it back.

What it won't do

• It won't invent facts. No made-up employers, job titles, dates, schools or numbers. When a stronger bullet needs a number you didn't give, it writes a blank like [X]% for you to fill in. If blanks are still there when you download, the editor asks you first.
• It won't bold single words. Resume text is plain. Bold and italic apply to a whole section, like your whole summary or all the bullets in your experience section. Ask for one word in bold and it tells you so.
• It won't delete a resume without asking. Delete this resume opens the same "Are you sure?" box as the menu.
• Only fonts and samples the editor offers. Ask for a font it doesn't have and it keeps your current one and tells you which fonts it has.

Who gets it

• Pro and Pro+: unlimited.
• Free and hour packs: one command in total, so you can try it. After that, the box turns into an upgrade card.

A command counts only when it did something: changed your resume or ran an action like a download. If the AI answers without changing anything, or something goes wrong, your free command is still there.

Tips

• Be specific. Make my summary 2 sentences works better than improve it.
• Pin before you ask. With a long resume, @ keeps the change exactly where you want it.
• Check the numbers. After a rewrite, look for [X] blanks and put in your real numbers.
• Undo is instant. Try something bold. If you don't like it, press Undo.
