Software Engineer, Backend

About this role

10a Labs is hiring a Backend Software Engineer to design and deploy secure, scalable APIs and distributed services that power AI safety and threat intelligence solutions. You'll collaborate with researchers and security teams to integrate AI/ML models into production systems on GCP while maintaining high reliability and security standards.

What you'll do

• Design and implement secure, scalable backend services and APIs using Python and Kotlin
• Integrate and optimize AI/ML models within backend architectures
• Deploy and manage services on GCP including Cloud Run, Vertex AI, and API Gateway
• Apply security best practices for authentication, authorization, encryption, and data protection
• Monitor performance, reliability, and resource efficiency to support system growth
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes

• Backend development (Python, Kotlin, Java, Node.js, or Go)
• Cloud infrastructure (GCP, AWS) and deployment
• Security best practices and threat mitigation
• Microservices and API design
• DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)

• Database design (SQL and NoSQL)
• System architecture and end-to-end design
