About this role

Join 10x Genomics as a Field Service Engineer providing on-site installation, repair, and maintenance support for analytical laboratory instruments across Japan and the Asia region. You'll troubleshoot equipment at the component level, manage service documentation, and contribute to process improvements while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

What you'll do

• Perform installation, repair, and troubleshooting of analytical lab equipment to field replaceable unit (FRU) level
• Provide timely on-site customer support and follow up on instrument performance post-service
• Complete required service documentation per company policy, cGMP, ISO, and regulatory standards
• Support software updates, calibrations, preventive maintenance, and equipment pre-staging activities
• Monitor and maintain inventory of parts, test equipment, and calibration certificates
• Contribute to service knowledge base and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction

What they're looking for

• Analytical lab instrument service and repair (several years experience)
• Troubleshooting and independent problem-solving for complex equipment issues
• Electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical repair expertise
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint preferred)
• Bilingual communication in Japanese and English (reading, writing, speaking)
• Time management and ability to juggle multiple priorities
• Interpersonal and customer-facing communication skills
• Microfluidics systems knowledge (preferred); optical systems experience (preferred)
