About this role

Join 10x Genomics as a Field Service Engineer to provide on-site installation, repair, and maintenance support for analytical laboratory instruments across Japan and Asia. You'll diagnose complex equipment issues, perform preventive maintenance, manage inventory, and contribute to service process improvements while collaborating across multiple teams.

What you'll do

• Perform on-site installation, repair, and troubleshooting of analytical lab instruments to field replaceable unit (FRU) level
• Complete required service documentation following company policy, cGMP, ISO, and regulatory standards
• Conduct preventive maintenance, calibration, software updates, and pre-staging of new equipment
• Monitor and manage parts inventory, test equipment, and calibration certificates
• Provide on-the-job training to other field service engineers on maintenance and repair techniques
• Identify opportunities to improve field service efficiency and customer satisfaction

What they're looking for

• Analytical lab instrument service and repair (multi-year experience)
• Troubleshooting and independent problem-solving of complex equipment issues
• Electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, and fluid systems repair
• Bilingual capability in Japanese and English (reading, writing, conversation)
• Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, PowerPoint preferred)
• Time management and multi-priority project coordination
• Interpersonal and customer-facing communication
• Linux operating systems (preferred)
