Software Engineer - MeritFirst

About this role

MeritFirst is seeking a Software Engineer to build merit-based talent assessment tools using modern web technologies. You'll own features end-to-end, from concept through deployment, working with Next.js, TypeScript, and Postgres to power real-time hiring solutions that challenge traditional talent evaluation.

What you'll do

• Develop and ship full-stack features from concept to live product
• Build web applications using Next.js, TypeScript, and React with Postgres databases
• Design database schemas and optimize query performance
• Collaborate with leadership and users to define scope and refine UX
• Implement analytics, telemetry, and testing to ensure reliability and performance
• Guide product direction through experimentation and data-driven decisions
