Forward Deployed Engineer

About this role

Adaptyv is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to serve as the technical bridge between customers and its automated lab platform. You'll embed with biotech companies, pharma teams, and AI labs to integrate Adaptyv's API into their protein design pipelines, enabling seamless automation of experiment design, execution, and result analysis.

What you'll do

• Embed with customers to understand their protein design workflows and identify integration points
• Build API integrations and data pipelines that connect customer systems to Adaptyv's lab platform
• Develop SDKs, client libraries, and scripts to streamline integrations and data flow
• Design end-to-end data architectures enabling automated experiment submission and result retrieval
• Prototype solutions rapidly, then refine them into production-grade systems
• Communicate customer feedback internally to drive product and API improvements

What they're looking for

• Python and/or TypeScript backend development
• API design and integration experience
• Systems thinking for distributed data flows
• AI-assisted coding tools (Claude Code, etc.)
• Ability to work autonomously in unfamiliar codebases
• Customer communication and requirements translation
• Comfort with biological domain concepts and protein design
