Backend Engineer IC2

About this role

Addi, a leading Colombian fintech platform, is seeking a Backend Engineer IC2 to build and operate scalable payment and banking solutions. You'll take end-to-end ownership of backend systems using JVM technologies, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver features that serve millions of customers.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, test, and deploy backend features using JVM stack technologies with full production ownership
• Architect resilient and scalable components following established patterns and best practices
• Write comprehensive unit, component, and integration tests to ensure system reliability
• Review code daily and mentor team members while receiving guidance from experienced engineers
• Contribute to Architecture Decision Records and propose new technical approaches for platform evolution
• Participate in on-call rotation and handle CI/CD deployment processes

• Backend development with Java, Kotlin, or Scala (2+ years)
• Spring Boot and JVM frameworks
• SQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL)
• Redis and caching systems
• Kafka and event-driven architecture
• API design and implementation
• Automated testing and CI/CD pipelines
• Docker and Kubernetes (nice to have)
