About this role
Advanced Space seeks a Spacecraft Navigation Engineer to develop navigation algorithms and conduct detailed analyses for lunar and cislunar missions, including the CAPSTONE and Oracle programs. The role involves configuring estimation tools, supporting flight operations, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team in Westminster, Colorado.
What you'll do
- Perform spacecraft navigation analyses including orbit determination, trajectory reconstruction, and covariance assessment
- Configure, tune, and validate Kalman filters for radiometric, optical, and GPS-based navigation systems
- Set up and operate navigation toolchains such as MONTE, FreeFlyer, ODTK, and GMAT with appropriate force and measurement models
- Support navigation operations including console activities, routine orbit determination updates, and procedure refinement
- Communicate navigation results and technical recommendations to customer and mission teams
- Contribute to requirements identification, work planning, and business development efforts
