Desktop CPQ Application and Automation Engineer
About this role
Lead the technical direction of a business-critical Electron + React + SQLite desktop application used by sales, finance, and operations teams for quoting, work orders, and contract management. You'll own the full architecture, set engineering standards, mentor engineers, and partner with stakeholders to evolve a system that integrates with NetSuite, Jira, Confluence, Perforce, and Outlook.
What you'll do
- Own end-to-end architecture of the Electron main process (Node.js) and React 19 renderer, including security boundaries and IPC patterns
- Design and evolve the SQLite schema, lead migration strategy, and maintain data integrity with sync/upsert logic
- Lead integrations with NetSuite (SuiteQL), Jira, Confluence, and Perforce, including authentication and error handling
- Define and enforce engineering standards for testing, linting, code review, and release practices
- Mentor engineers through code review and pairing; grow team expertise in Electron and CPQ domain
- Own release engineering, cross-platform packaging, and auto-updates via electron-builder and electron-updater

- JavaScript / Node.js (4+ years production experience)
- React 19 and component/state architecture
- SQL and relational data modeling (schema design, migrations, SQLite)
- Electron process model (main/renderer separation, IPC, contextIsolation, preload bridges)
- Third-party API integration and OAuth/token-based authentication
- Git / GitHub and CI/CD (GitHub Actions)
- Technical leadership and architectural decision-making
- Stakeholder communication and business translation
