Database Engineer II

About this role

AXS is hiring a Database Engineer II to design, build, and optimize scalable database solutions that support their ticketing platform serving millions of fans annually. You'll work on both relational and NoSQL databases in cloud environments, integrating them with CI/CD pipelines while ensuring high availability, security, and performance.

What you'll do

• Design and maintain relational and NoSQL databases (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Aurora, MongoDB)
• Integrate database deployments into CI/CD pipelines with automated schema migrations and testing
• Develop infrastructure-as-code solutions using Terraform and CloudFormation for database provisioning
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging to ensure database performance and security
• Optimize queries, indexes, and execution plans for cost and performance improvements
• Manage high availability, replication, backup, and disaster recovery strategies

• PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, and Aurora databases
• CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Liquibase)
• Infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
• AWS cloud platform expertise
• Database security, encryption, and key management
• Kafka cluster experience
• Query optimization and performance tuning
• Troubleshooting and root cause analysis
