Design Engineer 3

About this role

AEVEX Aerospace seeks a senior Design Engineer to lead aircraft structural and system modifications using Catia 3D CAD software. The role involves designing components, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating cross-functionally with stress analysts and manufacturing teams on airframe integration projects.

What you'll do

• Create engineering layouts, models, and drawings for aircraft structural and systems modifications using Catia V5
• Lead design teams through concept development to final implementation and drive technical solutions
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on proposals and development projects
• Perform and verify engineering calculations and testing to ensure safety and performance standards
• Resolve manufacturing challenges with creative problem-solving and coordinate with shop floor mechanics
• Document designs, analyses, and test results in comprehensive technical reports

• Catia V5 CAD software (5-10 years experience)
• Aircraft structural design and modification
• Composite structural design
• Materials knowledge (aluminum, steel, composites, honeycomb)
