About this role
AEVEX seeks a Mechanical Engineer 2 to design, analyze, and improve mechanical systems for aerospace and defense applications. The role involves CAD design, prototyping, testing, and cross-functional collaboration across three onsite locations. This position requires 3-6 years of experience and the ability to obtain a Top Secret DoD clearance.
What you'll do
- Design and create mechanical CAD drawings, assembly layouts, and component designs using industry-standard tools
- Conduct engineering research, analysis, and development while meeting customer and design specifications
- Apply design-for-manufacturability principles to enhance product reliability, assembly, and cost-effectiveness
- Support rapid prototyping, integration, and flight test activities with hands-on troubleshooting
- Develop tooling, fixtures, and jigs; assist with tolerance analysis and structural trade studies
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams on work instructions, process guidance, and production support
