Systems Engineer 2

About this role

This onsite Systems Engineer 2 role supports the development and sustainment of aerospace and defense systems, with particular focus on propulsion and unmanned aircraft architectures. The position involves requirements management, technical documentation, design integration, and test planning across the full program lifecycle.

What you'll do

• Develop, decompose, and manage system and subsystem-level requirements with full lifecycle traceability and configuration control
• Create and maintain technical documentation including block diagrams, interface control documents, specifications, and procedures
• Plan and execute ground tests, hot-fire tests, integration activities, and flight test events
• Define and manage propulsion system architectures including engines, fuel delivery, ignition systems, and controls interfaces
• Participate in technical reviews including design reviews, test readiness reviews, and technical interchange meetings
• Support technical issue resolution and compliance activities throughout research, development, production, and sustainment phases

• Systems engineering principles (INCOSE, MIL-STD standards, AS9100)
• Requirements management and configuration management tools (Jama Connect, Windchill, DOORS, Git)
• MIL-STD-810 and MIL-STD-461/464 environmental and EMI/EMC testing standards
• Technical documentation and report writing
• Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) knowledge and experience
• Scripting languages (Python, Bash, Perl) for automation
• Analytical problem-solving and data-driven decision making
• Project planning and concurrent task management
