Software Engineer II, Backend (ML Training & Serving)

Join Affirm's ML Training & Serving team to build and maintain the infrastructure that powers machine learning across the company. This backend engineering role focuses on distributed systems and platform reliability that enable faster model deployment and serving at scale.

What you'll do

• Break down and deliver backend infrastructure projects in phases with cross-team collaboration
• Partner with engineering and product teams to articulate technical constraints and evaluate trade-offs
• Monitor system metrics, maintain service availability, and support on-call operations
• Contribute to code quality through reviews and provide technical feedback to peers
• Participate in hiring and team development activities
