Software Engineer - Security/Infrastructure

About this role

AfterQuery, a rapidly scaling AI data company, is hiring a Security/Infrastructure Engineer to build custom security systems and resilient infrastructure protecting sensitive AI training workflows. You'll blend deep security implementation with general infrastructure work, using LLMs to accelerate problem-solving while moving fast in a San Francisco-based team.

What you'll do

• Design and implement systems to detect and respond to security events across the stack
• Automate manual security workflows into scalable, programmatic solutions
• Harden cloud environments (GCP/AWS) and strengthen production infrastructure
• Build access control systems for internal teams, experts, and customers
• Develop human-in-the-loop platforms for AI training and evaluation
• Own incident handling systems including detection, analysis, and resolution

• Python, Go, or TypeScript
• Cloud infrastructure (IAM, networking, containers)
• Code and system design vulnerability identification
• Monitoring and alerting systems design
• Production incident ownership
• AI systems or data pipeline experience
• Offensive security techniques
• Full-stack system ownership from design to production
