About this role

AGE Solutions seeks a Field Engineer I to support telecommunications infrastructure modernization for a federal customer in Washington, DC. This hands-on role involves installing, testing, and maintaining Cat6 copper and fiber optic cabling systems in secure government environments, working primarily during nighttime hours.

What you'll do

  • Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot Cat6 copper and fiber optic cabling per BICSI standards using certification tools
  • Perform telecommunications infrastructure installations including patch panels, fiber enclosures, racks, and cable management hardware
  • Construct and repair cable pathways, including trays, ladder racks, sleeves, and fire-stopping
  • Read and interpret telecom drawings, floor plans, wiring schematics, and installation documentation
  • Support cutovers, migrations, and telecommunications room buildouts including MDF/IDF upgrades
  • Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and government personnel to meet project timelines and federal compliance requirements
