About this role

AGE Solutions seeks an experienced Field Engineer II to support telecommunications infrastructure modernization for a federal customer in Washington, DC. This hands-on role involves installing, testing, and maintaining structured cabling systems in secure government environments during nighttime hours, requiring an active DoD Top Secret clearance and 5+ years of relevant experience.

What you'll do

  • Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot Cat6 copper and fiber optic cabling per BICSI standards using certification tools
  • Build and upgrade telecommunications infrastructure including patch panels, fiber enclosures, racks, and cable management systems
  • Construct and repair cable pathways, trays, ladder racks, and fire-stopping in confined spaces
  • Support campus-wide cabling refresh across multiple buildings and secure facilities
  • Read and interpret telecom drawings, floor plans, schematics, and coordinate with engineers and government personnel
  • Maintain installation documentation, ensure federal/security compliance, and support MDF/IDF upgrades and migrations
