Field Engineer III

About this role

AGE Solutions seeks experienced Field Engineers to lead telecommunications infrastructure modernization for a federal customer in Washington, DC. This hands-on role involves installing, testing, and troubleshooting structured cabling systems including Cat6 copper and fiber optics in secure government environments, with nighttime work schedules.

What you'll do

• Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot Cat6 copper and fiber optic cabling per BICSI standards using certification tools
• Build and upgrade telecommunications infrastructure including patch panels, fiber enclosures, racks, and cable pathways
• Lead small teams and coordinate with engineers, project managers, and government personnel on project execution
• Support cutovers, migrations, and MDF/IDF room buildouts across multiple secure facilities
• Read technical drawings, create documentation, and ensure compliance with federal and safety requirements
• Perform cable routing, dressing, bundling, and labeling following customer standards
