Information System Security Engineer (ISSE)
About this role
AGE Solutions seeks an experienced Information System Security Engineer to serve as a customer-facing cybersecurity consultant supporting government agencies. You'll provide security architecture and Risk Management Framework guidance across the system development lifecycle, translating compliance requirements into actionable technical solutions for on-premises, cloud, and legacy systems.
What you'll do
- Serve as embedded security engineering expert for mission partners, system owners, architects, and development teams throughout the SDLC
- Conduct in-depth security architecture and design reviews, analyzing network, cloud, application, and data flow architectures for vulnerabilities
- Translate RMF, NIST SP 800-53, DoD policy, and STIGs into practical engineering solutions and security controls
- Engineer vulnerability mitigation strategies and provide technical consultation supporting corrective action plans
- Use SIEM, vulnerability scanning, and EDR findings to recommend architectural improvements and reduce attack surface
- Present cybersecurity risks, findings, and recommendations to technical and Government leadership stakeholders

- Risk Management Framework (RMF) and NIST SP 800-37 expertise
- NIST SP 800-53 security and privacy controls implementation
- Security architecture and systems-security engineering
- DoD STIGs, SRGs, and PPSM requirements application
- SIEM platforms (Splunk, Elastic) and vulnerability scanners (ACAS/Nessus)
- Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) technologies
- Cloud-native and traditional architectures
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
