Software Engineer, Fullstack and Developer Experience

About this role

Agile Six, a veteran-owned company modernizing public-sector digital services, is hiring fullstack and developer experience engineers to build production APIs, developer tooling, and user-facing applications using open standards. One role is available immediately focused on developer experience; additional positions may open pending contract awards. You'll work remotely in a self-managed, collaborative environment across backend, frontend, DevOps, and developer experience specializations.

What you'll do

• Design and operate production-grade APIs, services, and shared components with attention to scalability, security, and performance
• Define and maintain data standards and API contracts for cross-system and external data exchange
• Build developer tooling including SDKs, CLIs, validators, and generators to support adoption and maintainability
• Implement workflow automation and CI/CD pipelines to enforce standards and reduce manual work
• Create accessible, mobile-first interfaces and comprehensive public documentation for adoption
• Collaborate across teams to solve technical challenges, troubleshoot production issues, and mentor others
