AI Engineer

About this role

DeepLearning.AI seeks an AI Engineer to develop generative AI products and features for their education platform. You'll work in a small, fast-paced team building full-stack applications that transform how people learn to build with AI, combining software engineering with cutting-edge AI techniques.

What you'll do

• Develop AI-powered products and features integrated into platform learning experiences and content workflows
• Build full-stack applications using generative AI tools with rapid iteration cycles
• Apply GenAI techniques including prompt engineering, RAG, finetuning, and agentic frameworks to real-world development
• Quickly learn and adopt new AI and software technologies as they emerge
• Communicate project status proactively and collaborate with small cross-functional team
• Own development of new software components from prototype to production-ready code

• Full-stack software development with Python backend and JavaScript/React/TypeScript frontend
• Cloud deployment and scalable application architecture
• Generative AI frameworks and tools (prompt engineering, RAG, finetuning, agentic workflows, evals, guardrails)
• LLM APIs and tool-calling patterns
• Relational, NoSQL, graph, and vector databases
• AI coding assistants (Claude, Codex, Gemini)
• Strong English communication and team collaboration
• Machine learning and AI fundamentals
