About this role
AIM is seeking a Field Configuration Engineer to deploy and operationalize autonomous heavy machinery systems in production mining and construction environments. You'll bridge software and field reality by configuring systems, diagnosing failures under pressure, and translating real-world challenges into engineering requirements.
What you'll do
- Configure autonomy software, perception stacks, networking, and cloud services; perform sensor calibration and validation
- Diagnose multi-system failures using logs, telemetry, and hardware inspection; perform root-cause analysis
- Design and execute on-site test plans for safety, performance, and environmental stress validation
- Translate field realities into actionable requirements for engineering teams; identify gaps in serviceability and safety
- Develop diagnostic tools and scripts to accelerate troubleshooting and bring-up processes
- Train operators and partner with software teams to improve configuration tools and workflows
