Backend Engineer, Berlin

About this role

Air Apps is seeking an experienced Backend Engineer to design and maintain scalable server-side systems for their AI-powered resource planning platform. You'll work with Node.js, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, and Google Cloud Platform in a fully onsite role in Lisbon, collaborating across teams to deliver robust APIs and cloud-native services.

What you'll do

• Design and build RESTful and GraphQL APIs using Node.js and TypeScript
• Model data and manage PostgreSQL databases via Supabase with advanced features like row-level security
• Deploy and manage services on Google Cloud Platform using Cloud Run and serverless compute
• Write clean, testable code with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing frameworks
• Implement secure authentication, authorization, and data protection following clean architecture principles
• Set up logging, monitoring, and alerting; own incident response and system reliability
