Backend QA Engineer

About this role

Air Apps is seeking a Backend QA Engineer to ensure reliability and performance of backend systems through API testing, database validation, and service integration testing. This fully onsite Lisbon role combines QA expertise with backend development knowledge, requiring 2–3 years of experience with Node.js, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

What you'll do

• Design and execute comprehensive tests for APIs, databases, and service integrations
• Validate API functionality and performance using tools like Postman and Swagger
• Test database operations, queries, and data integrity in PostgreSQL environments
• Develop and maintain automated tests for backend services
• Collaborate with engineers on pull request reviews and code quality assessment
• Document defects and test results using test management tools like TestRail
