Design Engineer

About this role

Ajax is building AI-powered automation for professional services firms to eliminate tedious time tracking and reporting. We're seeking a Design Engineer to drive product direction by talking with customers, architecting core platform features, and shipping solutions that solve real problems for lawyers, accountants, and consultants.

What you'll do

• Conduct customer research to identify problems and validate solutions
• Design and implement abstractions for a firm intelligence platform built on time-tracking data
• Ship full-stack features from conception through production and iteration
• Participate in hiring by interviewing engineering candidates
• Collaborate across frontend (React, Flutter), backend (Python), and data infrastructure

• Full-stack engineering (frontend + backend)
• Product design or UX sensibility
• Experience shipping live products with real users
• Customer discovery and problem validation
• React or Flutter development
• Data analysis and experimentation
