Roadway Project Engineer

About this role

Benesch seeks a Project Engineer for their Glastonbury civil roadway team to design and manage transportation infrastructure projects. This hybrid role involves collaborating with senior staff, managing budgets and schedules, and mentoring junior engineers while ensuring compliance with DOT standards.

What you'll do

• Execute civil transportation design projects in collaboration with senior staff
• Develop plans, specifications, and submissions per DOT standards
• Manage project budgets and schedules under Project Manager guidance
• Mentor junior staff members
• Interact with clients, agencies, and stakeholders
• Ensure CADD standards compliance and design quality

What they're looking for

• Civil transportation design (4+ years)
• OpenRoads Designer proficiency
• DOT standards and requirements knowledge
• Professional Engineering (PE) license in Connecticut or comity-eligible
• CAD and CADD standards compliance
• Project budgeting and scheduling
• Client communication and relationship management
• Independent work execution
