Structural Bridge Project Engineer

About this role

Benesch's Michigan division seeks a licensed Structural Project Engineer to design, analyze, and inspect bridge structures for MDOT projects in East Lansing. You'll collaborate across disciplines to deliver complex infrastructure solutions from concept through construction, with opportunities for leadership and career growth.

What you'll do

• Perform structural analysis and design for bridge projects using MDOT standards and AASHTO LRFD specifications
• Conduct load rating analyses and prepare technical calculations, drawings, and specifications
• Lead bridge inspections and construction observations, reviewing shop drawings and contractor submittals
• Coordinate with roadway, hydraulics, geotechnical, and environmental teams on integrated solutions
• Manage design packages, cost estimates, and schedules while maintaining quality control standards
• Supervise structural designers and inspectors on bridge design and inspection projects
