Benesch's Illinois division seeks a Structural Project Engineer in Chicago to lead bridge analysis, inspection, load rating, and design work on complex infrastructure projects. The role offers a hybrid schedule (3 days office, 2 remote) and requires a PE license with pursuit of SE licensure in Illinois.

What you'll do

  • Perform structural and geometric calculations for bridge rehabilitation and design projects
  • Develop and review finite element analysis models for bridge structures
  • Prepare bridge load rating reports to DOT standards
  • Create plans, specifications, cost estimates and pay items per DOT requirements
  • Manage quality control reviews for assigned design files and construction documents
  • Coordinate tasks with project and technical managers
