Traffic Engineer

About this role

Benesch seeks an experienced Traffic Engineer to conduct traffic studies, design intersection improvements, and manage projects for public agencies across Kansas. The role involves traffic analysis using specialized software, safety evaluations, and mentoring junior staff, with flexibility to work from multiple Kansas office locations on a hybrid schedule.

What you'll do

• Conduct traffic engineering studies, impact assessments, and safety analyses for intersections and corridors
• Perform traffic analysis using software tools like Synchro, HCS, Sidra, and Vissim
• Design intersection and corridor improvements including roundabouts and diverging diamond interchanges
• Develop traffic management plans, pavement markings, signage, and signal designs
• Mentor entry-level engineers and technicians while managing project deliverables
• Collaborate with design teams and work independently or as project manager on assigned tasks
