Electrical Engineer

About this role

Allen Control Systems, a defense startup founded by Navy engineers, is hiring an Electrical Engineer to design and develop electrical systems for autonomous gun turrets. You'll work on schematic design, PCB layouts, embedded firmware in C++, and real-time control systems while collaborating across mechanical and software teams.

What you'll do

• Design electrical schematics and PCB layouts for autonomous turret systems meeting military-grade requirements
• Develop and optimize embedded software in C++ and Python for real-time autonomous control
• Perform simulations for signal integrity, thermal management, and electromagnetic compatibility
• Integrate electrical components with mechanical systems including motors, sensors, and actuators
• Test and debug electronics in lab and field environments against military standards
• Create technical documentation including schematics, layouts, simulation results, and test protocols
