About this role
Allen Control Systems seeks an Android developer to build high-performance, real-time applications for autonomous defense systems using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose. You'll optimize for low-latency interactions, gamepad input handling, and embedded tablet environments in a fast-paced defense startup backed by $200M in funding.
What you'll do
- Design and develop native Android applications in Kotlin for performance-critical remote weapon system interfaces
- Build responsive Jetpack Compose UIs for tablets and embedded systems with game-like interactions
- Integrate with back-end APIs and WebSockets to ensure seamless real-time system communication
- Optimize applications for low latency, smooth responsiveness, and gamepad/joystick input handling
- Collaborate with product, UX/UI, and back-end teams to implement defense-focused interfaces
- Maintain code quality through reviews, testing, and continuous architecture improvements
