Test Integration Engineer

About this role

Allen Control Systems, a defense startup founded by former Navy engineers, seeks a Test Integration Engineer to bring up, debug, and validate autonomous weapon platforms in Austin, TX. You'll work hands-on across electrical, mechanical, and software systems, using lab instrumentation to diagnose issues and ensure real-world performance.

What you'll do

• Integrate electrical subsystems including motor drivers, sensors, cameras, and power systems
• Perform system bring-up, debugging, and validation during prototype and production phases
• Use oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and spectrum analyzers to diagnose technical issues
• Develop and execute test procedures for electrical and system-level validation
• Support field testing and troubleshoot failures observed during operation
• Build test fixtures and automation tools; collaborate with hardware and software teams

What they're looking for

• Hardware bring-up and integration (3+ years)
• Lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers)
• Embedded systems and firmware debugging
• Linux command-line proficiency
• Electrical interfaces (CAN, Ethernet, RS-422/485, UART, I²C)
• Python or C/C++ scripting
• Real-time systems and hardware-software integration
• Motor-driven or high-power systems experience
