Manufacturing Engineer
About this role
Allen Control Systems, a defense robotics startup, seeks an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to design and optimize production processes for autonomous systems. You'll lead process optimization, equipment integration, and continuous improvement initiatives while collaborating cross-functionally to scale from prototype to high-volume manufacturing.
What you'll do
- Design and optimize manufacturing workflows, assembly methods, and automation integration for robotic system components
- Perform root cause analysis using 8D and Fishbone methodologies to implement corrective and preventive actions
- Conduct process capability studies, FMEA, and Gauge R&R analyses to validate measurement systems and ensure quality
- Manage CNC machines, test fixtures, and automated assembly line setup, validation, and maintenance
- Track KPIs including OEE, throughput, and scrap rates; support lean and Six Sigma continuous improvement efforts
- Evaluate vendor performance and develop incoming material and component quality protocols
