Quality Engineer - 2nd Shift

About this role

Allen Control Systems, a defense startup founded by ex-Navy engineers, seeks a Quality Engineer for 2nd shift to develop quality management systems, perform precision inspections of machined parts, and operate CMMs. The role focuses on ensuring product integrity through advanced testing, root cause analysis, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

What you'll do

• Develop and maintain quality management systems with procedures compliant to ISO 9001 or AS9100 standards
• Design custom inspection tooling and fixtures for accurate measurement of machined parts
• Program, set up, and operate CMMs using PC-DMIS or similar software for dimensional and geometric inspections
• Conduct visual, dimensional, and functional inspections using precision tools and verify conformance to drawings and GD&T standards
• Document defects and non-conformances; collaborate on root cause analysis and corrective actions with suppliers
• Maintain inspection records, generate quality reports, and track trends to drive supplier improvements
