Quality Engineer - Weekend Shift

Allen Control Systems, a defense startup developing autonomous systems, seeks a Quality Engineer for weekend shift work in Austin, TX. The role focuses on inspection, testing, and quality analysis of machined parts using advanced precision equipment and quality management systems.

What you'll do

• Develop and maintain quality management systems (QMS) with procedures for inspections and compliance with standards like ISO 9001 or AS9100
• Design and implement custom inspection tooling and fixtures for accurate measurement of machined parts
• Program, set up, and operate CMMs using PC-DMIS or similar software for dimensional and geometric inspections
• Conduct visual, dimensional, and functional inspections using precision tools and verify conformance to engineering drawings and GD&T standards
• Document defects and non-conformances; collaborate with suppliers on root cause analysis and corrective actions
• Maintain inspection records, generate reports using data analysis tools, and track quality trends
