Desktop System Software Engineer II

About this role

AlphaSense seeks a Desktop System Software Engineer II to manage macOS and Windows endpoints at scale while diagnosing issues in the company's own desktop applications. This role bridges Corporate IT and product engineering, requiring expertise in MDM platforms, endpoint security tools, and deep troubleshooting capabilities to ensure reliable employee experiences.

What you'll do

• Design and manage macOS and Windows endpoint configurations, policies, and lifecycle via Kandji/Iru and Microsoft Intune
• Build and maintain device enrollment workflows, compliance policies, and custom automation scripts
• Reproduce and isolate desktop application issues across OS versions and configurations, then collaborate with product teams on fixes
• Investigate crashes, rendering problems, permission conflicts, and update failures at the application layer
• Develop and maintain diagnostic runbooks and test new application releases before company-wide rollout
• Monitor endpoint fleet health, drive proactive remediation, and build internal tooling to improve IT operations
