About this role
ALTEN Technology USA seeks a Controls Engineer to integrate Ingersoll Rand torque tools into a manufacturing execution system using Ignition SCADA and OPC protocols. The role involves configuring data pipelines, troubleshooting communications, and validating end-to-end data integrity in an on-site manufacturing environment.
What you'll do
- Configure and integrate Ingersoll Rand torque tool data into Ignition SCADA via TCP/OPC protocols
- Develop Ignition tags, OPC connections, and database transactions to capture torque data and part traceability
- Troubleshoot communication between torque controllers and SCADA layers
- Validate data integrity from tool output through SCADA to MES storage
- Collaborate with client controls engineering team to replicate integration across multiple stations
- Document configurations and support commissioning and on-floor testing
What they're looking for
- Ignition SCADA (3+ years with tag configuration, Jython/Python scripting)
- TCP/OPC and industrial communication protocols (OPC UA/DA, Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP)
- MES and shop floor device integration
- SQL database design and transactional logging
- Ingersoll Rand torque tool experience (preferred)
- HMI development and Ignition Perspective/Vision (preferred)
- Production traceability and part genealogy (preferred)
- Manufacturing environment troubleshooting
