Design and Release Engineer (DRE) - Interior Alerts

About this role

ALTEN Technology USA seeks a Design and Release Engineer to oversee the complete development lifecycle of interior alert components (QVPM, horns, speakers) for automotive production vehicles. The role combines design leadership, supplier management, validation testing, and cross-functional coordination to ensure components meet performance, quality, and cost objectives through vehicle launch.

What you'll do

• Manage component design, analysis, packaging, and validation from concept through production release
• Oversee supplier design efforts and conduct design reviews to verify compliance with specifications
• Develop and maintain FMEA, DVP&R, boundary diagrams, and interface matrices
• Support system integration with ECUs, network communications, and surrounding vehicle systems
• Lead root cause analysis for field issues and coordinate corrective actions with suppliers
• Ensure regulatory compliance and support quality/warranty initiatives through technical evaluation
