Design Engineer Body Exterior - Lighting, Tail Lamp

About this role

ALTEN Technology USA seeks a Design Engineer to lead the end-to-end development of vehicle tail lamp and exterior lighting components, from concept through production. The role combines advanced 3D CAD design, cross-functional collaboration, and manufacturing feasibility analysis to deliver cost-effective, high-quality automotive solutions.

What you'll do

• Create and develop tail lamp components using 3DX CAD with independent design capability and GD&T application
• Design to meet customer, regulatory, functional, and quality requirements including DFA and DFS considerations
• Perform feasibility assessments for tooling, manufacturing, assembly, and validate designs using CAE and physical testing
• Manage design documentation, quality history, and technical reviews including DFMEA and PFMEA
• Coordinate electrical and software interface documentation and engineering transmittals
• Control design data through PLM systems, manage program milestones, and oversee development budgets and costs
