Design Release Engineer - Ambient Lighting, Switches Engineer

About this role

ALTEN Technology USA seeks a Design Release Engineer to lead the development and production launch of ambient lighting systems and interior switches for premium vehicles. This role bridges mechanical packaging, electrical integration, and supplier management while ensuring optical performance, regulatory compliance, and design intent across door switches, overhead consoles, and indirect lighting zones.

What you'll do

• Engineer, package, and release ambient lighting systems and interior switch assemblies from concept through production launch
• Translate design intent into production-feasible, optically correct, and electrically compliant solutions
• Define packaging envelopes, light pipe routing, diffuser geometry, and switch integration within vehicle trim
• Manage DFMEA, DVPR, SCCAF, and robustness documentation through design and release milestones
• Ensure compliance with FMVSS and homologation requirements for lighting visibility and illumination levels
• Collaborate with suppliers on optical performance, EMC compliance, thermal management, and cost/timing targets
