Design Release Engineer, Exterior & Interior Accessories

About this role

ALTEN Technology USA seeks a Design Release Engineer to oversee the complete development of vehicle exterior and interior accessories, from concept through production. This role combines 3D CAD design, engineering validation, manufacturing feasibility assessment, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver cost-effective, high-quality components for automotive applications.

What you'll do

• Create and optimize component designs using 3DX CAD with GD&T principles and dimensional variation analysis
• Validate designs through CAE, physical testing, and analytical methods to ensure integrity and meet all program requirements
• Assess manufacturing, tooling, and assembly feasibility while evaluating fit, finish, and craftsmanship
• Prepare and manage technical documentation including DFMEA, PFMEA, control plans, and interface matrices
• Manage PLM systems, BOM control, engineering timelines, and RFQ packages for prototype builds and validation phases
• Track program costs including landed pricing, vendor tooling, and development expenses
