Exterior Lighting Design & Release Engineer

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking an experienced Exterior Lighting Design & Release Engineer to develop advanced automotive lighting systems from concept to production in Foster City, CA. The role involves collaboration with various teams to ensure high-quality designs align with performance and regulatory standards.

What you'll do

• Design exterior lighting solutions for vehicles from concept through production
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and suppliers to meet engineering objectives
• Solve technical problems using expertise in plastics and optical design
• Conduct root-cause analysis for lighting system failures
• Manage Tier 1 supplier relationships and engineering change management
• Align design deliverables with commercial requirements

What they're looking for

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 5+ years in Exterior Lamp development
• Proficient in CATIA V5/V6
• Strong understanding of engineering principles
• Excellent communication skills
• Knowledge of automotive regulations (FMVSS, ECE, NCAP)
• Ability to manage project priorities
• Curiosity and high learning agility
