Field Robotics Engineer

About this role

ALTEN Technology USA seeks a Field Robotics Engineer to bridge software development and real-world deployment in warehouse and industrial environments. You'll execute and troubleshoot software systems, deploy sensor arrays, and manage technical equipment while collaborating with engineering teams to ensure operational excellence.

What you'll do

• Execute and monitor software interfaces (GUI and command-line) in warehouse and industrial field settings
• Troubleshoot software execution issues in real-time with minimal operational disruption
• Deploy, configure, and manage sensor arrays in industrial environments
• Assemble, disassemble, and transport technical equipment to and from field sites
• Collaborate with software engineering teams on issue diagnosis and continuous improvement
• Document deployments, issues, and resolutions with clear technical records

• Python scripting for automation and diagnostics
• Linux, Bash, and/or Zsh proficiency
• Field troubleshooting and problem-solving
• Technical equipment assembly and handling
• Technical documentation and communication
• Real-time monitoring and system management
• Hardware communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART preferred)
• Sensor deployment and IoT device configuration
