About this role
ALTEN Technology USA seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to develop mechanical systems for Class 2 UAV platforms, managing the full design lifecycle from concept to production. You'll lead independent design efforts, work with advanced materials, and collaborate across engineering teams in a fast-paced aerospace/defense environment.
What you'll do
- Design and document UAV mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks and EPDM
- Support composite structure design with laminate schedules for Kevlar and carbon materials
- Conduct thermal modeling and analysis using SolidWorks simulation tools
- Generate detailed engineering drawings, BOMs, and release packages for manufacturing
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet requirements and manufacturability
- Support hardware builds, testing, and field activities
