About this role

ALTEN Technology USA seeks a Power Electronics Hardware Engineer to lead full lifecycle development of 12V Power Distribution Units for an electric vehicle manufacturer in Newark, CA. This on-site role focuses on ECU hardware design, including power electronics circuits, MOSFET selection, and bridge topologies, with responsibility for requirements through production release.

What you'll do

  • Lead V-cycle development of 12V PDUs (up to 60A DC) from concept to production
  • Design ECU hardware with emphasis on power electronics, load switching, and protection circuits
  • Select and apply AEC-Q101 N-Channel MOSFETs for low-voltage, high-current switching
  • Design and analyze half-bridge and full-bridge topologies for inductive load control
  • Develop schematics in OrCAD and support PCB layout with DFM reviews
  • Author and execute DVP&R test plans, perform bench testing and failure analysis
