About this role

ALTEN Technology USA seeks a Powertrain Reverse Engineer to decode undecoded hybrid control signals on an autonomous vehicle fleet experiencing battery depletion issues. You'll capture and analyze CAN bus traffic, reverse-engineer charging and thermal management signals, and deliver an updated DBC file to resolve power supply problems.

What you'll do

  • Capture and analyze CAN traffic on test vehicles with driver/technician support
  • Reverse-engineer hybrid battery, charging, thermal, and powertrain diagnostic signals
  • Author and validate an updated DBC file for hybrid control systems
  • Re-run captured data against the new DBC to verify signal accuracy
  • Document decoded signals and reverse-engineering methodology
  • Submit deliverables as pull requests to the project repository
