About this role

Lead the design and delivery of Emergency Call (eCall) and telematics-based safety systems for vehicles, serving as feature owner for crash notification and minimum data set transmission. Manage end-to-end system architecture, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional integration while providing sustaining support for legacy restraint control modules.

What you'll do

  • Own eCall system design including automatic crash notification, manual SOS triggers, and minimum set of data generation across telematics ECUs and RCM modules
  • Define system requirements, performance specifications, and regulatory compliance strategy aligned with standards like EN 15722, ECE R144, and NG-eCall
  • Lead validation planning and execution for call success rates, data accuracy, and network performance across varying conditions
  • Provide sustaining engineering support for legacy RCM systems, including bug triage, field issue resolution, and compatibility with new architectures
  • Manage supplier relationships and act as primary technical interface for telematics ECU and connectivity module deliverables
  • Coordinate cross-functional collaboration across hardware, software, connectivity, cybersecurity, diagnostics, and homologation teams

What they're looking for

  • Automotive safety systems and eCall/telematics architecture
  • Regulatory compliance (ECE R144, EN 15722, ISO 26262 functional safety)
  • System design and MBSE (model-based systems engineering)
  • CAN/Ethernet communication protocols and vehicle networking
  • Crash detection logic and passive safety integration
  • Requirements management and traceability tools
  • Supplier management and technical project execution
  • Validation and homologation testing processes
