Seat Heat Vent System Release Engineer

About this role

ALTEN Technology USA seeks a Design Release Engineer to oversee the complete development and launch of heated and ventilated seat systems for automotive programs. This role owns technical specifications, supplier coordination, validation testing, and quality performance from concept through production.

What you'll do

• Design and release seat heating/ventilation components and systems from concept to production
• Develop technical specifications, engineering standards, and documentation for thermal comfort features
• Lead packaging and integration of heat/ventilation systems into seat structures while ensuring safety and manufacturability
• Coordinate with suppliers on design proposals, DFMEAs, DVP&Rs, and cost/feasibility studies
• Plan and execute validation activities including thermal performance, durability, and regulatory compliance testing
• Support vehicle builds and production launches by resolving performance and integration issues

What they're looking for

• Design Release Engineer (DRE) experience
• Heated/ventilated seat system expertise
• 3D CAD proficiency (CATIA, NX, or equivalent)
• Thermodynamics, heat transfer, and HVAC knowledge
• DFMEA, DVP&R, and root cause analysis
• Cross-functional team leadership
• Engineering documentation and change management
• Electrical and thermal testing/troubleshooting
