Lead Facilities, Construction & Real Estate Projects That Make a Difference

America At Work is recruiting an experienced Facilities & Capital Projects Manager on behalf of an established community-focused organization in Lancaster, PA.

This leadership position combines facilities management, property operations, construction project oversight, and capital improvements across a diverse portfolio of residential, commercial, and community properties.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can manage contractors, budgets, building maintenance, and multiple projects while ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.

What You'll Do

    • Oversee facilities operations, property maintenance, repairs, and capital improvements.

    • Manage construction and renovation projects from planning through completion.

    • Develop project budgets, schedules, scopes, and contractor agreements.

    • Supervise maintenance personnel, vendors, and external contractors.

    • Oversee preventive maintenance for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, roofing, and other building systems.

    • Coordinate property inspections, permits, safety programs, and regulatory compliance.

    • Support real estate development, property acquisitions, and affordable housing initiatives.

    • Collaborate with executive leadership on strategic facilities and development priorities.

Required Qualifications

    • 5+ years of experience in facilities management, construction management, property operations, or capital projects.

    • Experience supervising employees, contractors, or service providers.

    • Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance operations, and construction practices.

    • Proven ability to manage project budgets, schedules, vendors, and contracts.

    • Familiarity with building codes, OSHA requirements, and safety regulations.

    • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

    • Valid driver's license and ability to travel between local properties and project sites.

Preferred Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Facilities Management, Business, or a related field; equivalent experience or technical training considered.

    • Experience with affordable housing, real estate development, or nonprofit/community development projects.

    • Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills.

    • Relevant facilities, construction, or project management certifications.
