American Turbines, a seed-stage company revolutionizing distributed power generation, seeks a Power Electronics Engineer to own the design, procurement, and deployment of power conversion systems. This role spans from designing the power stage for their initial turbine to overseeing on-site installations and commissioning, requiring both hands-on bench work and field experience. You’ll be accountable for the entire interface between the generator and the customer's power system.

What you'll do

  • Design and develop power electronics systems (DC-DC, inverters, rectifiers, etc.).
  • Select, procure, and integrate power components.
  • Oversee testing and commissioning of power electronics systems both in-house and on-site.
  • Write specifications and qualify hardware from partners and suppliers.
  • Troubleshoot and debug hardware issues, identifying root causes.
  • Consider installation and serviceability during the design process.
